It is a dark time for the galaxy. An ancient Evil awakens once more, rising from the shadows beyond the stars. Its endless army of fanatical minions spread through the stars, enslaving the Free Worlds and threatening to plunge the entire galaxy in eternal Darkness.
One by one, the beacons of hope seem to  flicker and fade. The forces of the Intergalactic Resistance are fractured, its champions scattered. Yet, a spark of hope remains. Against all odds, a small band of brave heroes may still turn the tide of the battle. In their hands lies the fate of the galaxy.

Against the Starmaster

Welcome to Against the Starmaster, the tabletop RPG of epic spacefaring adventure! In this page you’ll find the free Playtest Rules, which will allow you to try out and even influence the development of the game before the full rules are released. You just need to grab the files, gather a few friends, and launch into the adventure!

How does the playtest works

It’s pretty simple: read the rules, then get the pregenerated characters and run through the introductory scenario. If you come across anything that seems unclear, doesn’t work as intended, or if you have ideas for new features you’d love to see implemented, or even if you just want to drop in and say hello, we want to hear from you! Join the conversation on our Discord server. This is your opportunity to shape the development of Against the Starmaster!

At the same time, please keep in mind that these are NOT the final rules of the game. Everything in these Playtest Rules may be subject to change, and several features are still in development and will be added in future updates.
